Welcome to Little Reader Britches!

As a middle school librarian, I live and breathe secondary school libraries. I review books on my blog, Mrs. ReaderPants, and write up library and lesson ideas I have. I've run Mrs. ReaderPants since February 2011, and it's been going great. I've learned so much about blogging and have been able to connect with librarians all over the world. How cool is that?

Bus as a mom to 6- and 8-year old boys, I also read many, many children's picture books. Every time I read one that really stands out, I am just itching to write a review to post to Mrs. ReaderPants. The problem is, Mrs. ReaderPants is for secondary level books and library ideas. Posting picture book reviews on Mrs. ReaderPants really wouldn't match the rest of the blog.

For about a year now, I've toyed with creating a new blog for elementary librarians and teachers. Middle grade and young adult lit is my bread and butter, but I have lots of elementary ideas from my five years as an elementary librarian. I really miss doing some of these lessons with my younger students, but at least I could pass them on to other librarians.

And...Little Reader Britches was born! This site will be the "little sister" blog to Mrs. ReaderPants. Here, I will write reviews of elementary level fiction and nonfiction. I will post some of my favorite lessons from my years as an elementary librarian. I may even see if my boys might be interested in writing their reviews of the books we read together, right alongside mine.

So stay tuned! This will take me time to build, but I have so much content in my head, I've got to get it out somewhere! My first review will come later this week with Piggies in Pajamas by Michelle Meadows.
